Good Morning Life!
For the last 10 months or so, I have been driving down to work from Koramangla to MG Road. Each day begins the same way, I set out for office cursing the Bangalore traffic, the apathy of the government, the drudgery that lay ahead at work...nothing seems right with the world. Then I turn left on Victoria Road and my eyes start looking out for another familiar sight.
The sight of a young schoolboy, affected by polio, walking to his school. With his walking stick in one hand and his mother's hand in the other, he walks the length of Victoria Road (maybe more) to the bus stand on the other side of the traffic junction. His eyes gleam from behind the oversized spectacles and he is always chatting away merrily with his mother, maybe he is talking about what he is going to do in the school today or maybe he is telling her what he plans to do when he grows up. Suddenly my problems don't seem so big anymore. Momentarily, I forget about the stupid world in which we live in till a honking maniac or a zigzagging jerk jolts me back to reality.
I shall refrain from making any lofty statements about life and contentment here but that schoolboy makes my morning so much brighter and the burdens of my life seem so much lighter that I am ready to take the rest of the day head on.
Thank you my friend and may life always smile upon you!
